Transforming Lives Through Inclusive Programs

At The Life Gate for Persons with Disabilities (LGPD Rwanda), our programmes are designed to empower women with disabilities, women raising children with disabilities, children with disabilities, and other vulnerable persons with disabilities through advocacy, empowerment, healthcare, education, rehabilitation, and inclusion initiatives. We work in partnership with communities, government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners to promote disability rights, improve access to quality healthcare and inclusive education, strengthen women's empowerment, support rehabilitation and recreational activities, and advance equal rights and social inclusion. Through these integrated programmes, we are building a more inclusive Rwanda where every person with a disability can live with dignity, independence, and equal opportunities.

Disability Rights Awareness and Advocacy

We promote disability rights, gender equality, and social inclusion by empowering women with disabilities, women raising children with disabilities, children with disabilities, and their communities with knowledge and awareness. Through advocacy campaigns, community dialogues, public education, and stakeholder engagement, we challenge stigma, discrimination, and harmful stereotypes while promoting equal opportunities, accessibility, and respect for the rights of persons with disabilities. Our goal is to build inclusive communities where every person with a disability is valued, protected, and able to participate fully in society.

Our activities include:

  • Advocacy & Awareness
  • Women Empowerment
  • Health Care Support
  • Inclusive Education Support
  • Promoting Equal Rights & Inclusion
  • Rehabilitation & Recreation

Health and Rehabilitation Support

Good health is essential for every person to live a dignified, healthy, and productive life. LGPD Rwanda works to improve access to inclusive and quality healthcare services for women with disabilities, children with disabilities, and other vulnerable persons with disabilities. We facilitate access to medical care, rehabilitation services, physiotherapy, mental health and psychosocial support, health education, and referrals to specialized services. We also advocate for accessible and disability-inclusive healthcare systems to ensure that every person with a disability can receive the care and support they need without discrimination.
